Sinner's Past, by Franciszek Żmurko

Dawn ascetic cloth

Follow guides of old

For clarity of one’s

Body, mind and soul

I observe myself

To liven all mind’s sense

I then still myself

To silence it from thence

Within stagnant waters

Seeking lasting cure

Everflowing rivers

That once were nearly pure

Nectar of the sun

Boon, from tree to mouth

Breaking down the dams

Ending spirit’s drouth

What has befalled man

Is hitherto undone

If one does give true thanks

From where all had begun

Seven days to ponder

On virtues and the sins

Plant a seed of hope

Versus darkness, wins
